Canadian Media: Canada Accuses Olympic Athletes Of Making Chinese Clothing.

Most of the Canadian costumes for this year's Beijing Olympics were made in China, which made Canadian opposition lawmakers unhappy.

Cordell, a member of the Liberal Party, said that the Canadian Olympic athletes did not wear their national costume and lost the golden opportunity to display the finished products of Canadian textile industry at the Olympics.

He is more distressed to point out that at the moment of struggling in Canada's textile industry, the Olympic costume is also a major blow to Canadian textile industry.

The Canadian textile industry is mainly concentrated in Quebec Province, so the Quebec congressional congressmen responded more fiercely.

Congressman Paget said that the federal government is simply not concerned about the well-being of Quebec.

The chairman of the Canadian Olympic Committee, Ruki, said the government had not expressed its views on the production of Olympic costumes.

He felt that the federal government did not seem to care.

The Canadian Olympic Committee also hopes that Olympic costumes can be made in Canada, but now it is difficult to find manufacturers that can make such a large amount of clothing, according to rouge.

Because in addition to making Olympic costumes, manufacturers also need to produce large quantities of the same products and sell them to the public.

Canadian manufacturing industry has been hit hard by imported goods from China and appreciation of Canadian currency in recent years.

Many textile mills are closing up or moving abroad.

Hudson Bay Co, a designer specially designed for Canadian Olympic athletes, designed a sport suit made of bamboo, cocoa and organic cotton to help athletes adapt to the high temperature in Asia. However, this special fiber is available only in Asia, especially in China.

Machel, a spokesman for Hudson Bay Co, said that although eighty percent of the Canadian Olympic Games were made in China this year, the costumes worn by the contestants at the opening ceremony and the podium were all made in Canada.

As for the clothing that the Canadian players wear in the competition, according to Lu Ji, because of the high technical nature, only one or two places in the world are capable of making, so this part of the clothing can not be made in Canada.

Deval suggested that when the 2010 Winter Olympics were held in Vancouver, the government must make sure that Canadian athletes wear Canadian clothing.

Hudson Bay Co has begun to design the 2010 Winter Olympic Games costumes for Canadian athletes.

Machel said that as long as the domestic textile industry has the capability, the company is very willing to commission all garments to domestic manufacturers.

Lu Ji also said that as long as all conditions permit, the Canadian Olympic Committee is willing to dress all the players invited to domestic manufacturers.
