Clothing Origin Identification

According to reports from Italy media, after the agreement reached between China and Europe on the issue of export of textiles to Hong Kong, Italy's industry organizations and entrepreneurs expressed their views. The mainstream view is that the new agreement reached between China and Europe is a positive agreement. The debate on quotas should come to an end. The next goal of Italy's textile and garment industry is to win outside the EU. Spin The mandatory origin labeling system is applied to clothing products.

The president of Italy Textile Federation said that the agreement is good news for the textile and garment industry. But if we want to establish a truly free and fair market, the most important way is to establish a mandatory origin identification system. Boselli, chairman of the Italy Fashion Association, also pointed out that quota measures can only serve as a short-term strategy. As a medium and long-term strategy, efforts must be made to achieve transparency in origin and establish a cooperative mechanism for the Mediterranean coastal countries in the field of textile and clothing.

The European textile association chairman, Mr lone Kony, also gave a positive assessment of the agreement. "The important thing is that the June agreement was not overturned and all the problems were solved in a very short time," he said. At the moment, apart from some specific details, we should stress that European producers have made great sacrifices to reach an agreement. To this end, marketers who are profiting from the agreement should make concessions on the issue of origin identification accordingly.

Italy textile entrepreneur Guido (the owner of "Brooksfield" and "CottonBelt" brand) said that he strongly agreed to release China's stagnant products. He believes that the market itself is selective, and if consumers can't afford shirts more than 20 euros, they will certainly buy Chinese products. Europe should retain the market of high-end products, and the rest of the market can be left to Chinese enterprises. Some textile manufacturers have pointed out that protectionism is impracticable and the rise of China is irresistible. The urgent task for the European textile industry is to improve product quality and added value.

While textile manufacturers praised the agreement, some sellers were disappointed by the new and old agreements. Belal do, a member of the Italy Retailers Association, thinks that although the quota system has been withdrawing from the historical stage under the watchful eyes of the public, it now needs to use political means to solve a simple problem of import rationalization. So sellers are not satisfied with the agreement. They think the result is reasonable. Vendors hope further to rethink the agreement signed in June. They say that it is possible to make mistakes, but to persist in mistakes is terrible.
