Parliament and committee recently discussed the decision to issue a new textile labeling regulation, requiring all clothing products to be marked whether they used materials obtained from animals.

This regulation will prevent consumers from buying animal skins that they did not want to buy without knowing it.

The parliament requires that all textile products must be marked with "non textile materials", so that consumers can identify them.

Before the introduction of the specification, clothing products only need to indicate their main materials, and manufacturers do not need to specify whether fur or leather is used in the products. According to a recent statistics, 95% of the British people do not like fur or leather products, but many consumers buy them under misleading circumstances.

A survey conducted by RSPCA shows that fur products sold in British stores are labeled artificial materials. For example, the clothing of DKNY brand made by TKMaxx is labeled as the use of microfiber and nylon material, but the fur material tested by laboratory is actually from arctic fox.

Therefore, in order to solve the increasingly difficult to distinguish the true and false material and the use of labels is not standardized, the EU has issued a mandatory label specification.
