Products sold on sale will be required to disclose environmental information of products, including marking their entire life cycle (i.e., the whole process of raw materials, manufacturing, storage and pportation, abandonment to recycling) and the carbon content of their packages. That is, the amount of two oxygen carbon (CO2) emitted from the production of goods in the production process will be marked on the product label to inform the consumers of the carbon information of their products.

The bill was passed in July 12, 2010 and will start trial operation in July 1st this year, at least 1 years.

Carbon labelling is aimed at mitigating climate change, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting

Low carbon

Emission technology, the emission of greenhouse gases emitted by commodities in the life cycle is marked on the product label with a quantified index, and the carbon information of consumers' products is informed in the form of labels.

With the popularity of energy saving and emission reduction worldwide, the trend of low carbon economy has been irresistible. Carbon labelling is not only a fashion, but also a bill.

At present, there are 12 countries and regions in the world in legislation, requiring their enterprises to implement the carbon labelling system. More than 1000 famous enterprises around the world regard the "low carbon" as the necessary supply chain. WAL-MART, IBM, IKEA and so on have all asked their suppliers to provide carbon labels.

In March 2007, the world's first batch of carbon labelling products was launched in the UK. In April 2011, Japan began to implement the carbon labelling system for agricultural products. The agricultural products placed in stores were shown through carbon labelling to show consumers the amount of carbon dioxide emitted from their production process.

Countries such as the United States, Sweden, Canada and South Korea have also launched carbon labelling schemes.

From carbon emissions to carbon trading market to low carbonization requirements, the global control of carbon emissions is changing from scientific research and political game to refinement of rules and improvement of feasibility.

In the long run, the real implementation of carbon labelling will lead to significant changes in the supply chain, especially in the consumer goods industry, which will create tremendous pressure on the entire product manufacturing and supply chain.
