A new headquarters of Greater China has been announced in Shanghai to support the long-term and sustained growth of the group in mainland China.


In early January, Nike announced that it would set up a 600 thousand square foot greater China headquarters in a large complex building called "The Springs" in Yangpu District, Shanghai.


Qi Kaige Cheek, vice president and general manager of Greater China in Nike group, said that building the headquarters of Greater China is not only very exciting news, but also a strategic strategy for Nike group's continuous growth in mainland China's business in Craig.

The new headquarters not only integrates all the Shanghai employees and Nike group's brands in the same area, but also improves the office facilities and operation capacity of the company.

After the completion of the Nike Greater China headquarters park located in Shang Pu world, it will include three office buildings and a five story multi-purpose conference center.

In addition to the commercial office buildings, a football field and a standard indoor basketball court and a first-class fitness facility will be built in the headquarters park. The new headquarters will also include a full set of catering facilities and a separate conference center, which will be used for large events and new products.

The Nike group is expected to move into the new headquarters in the first quarter of 2014.


2011 is the 30th anniversary entry of Nike into the Chinese mainland market. Nike Greater China announced its first annual revenue in June 2011, the first time it exceeded $2 billion.


Recently, the demand for all sports products of Nike in mainland China has continued to grow. According to the data released by Nike at the end of December last year, the market income of the Greater China region was 650 million US dollars in the second quarter of 2011, up 35% from the same period in 2010 (excluding the exchange rate effect, which was 28% higher than that in 2010), leading to the overall performance of Nike in other regions.


According to Nike's earnings report, as of November 30th last year, Nike's Greater China region earned $353 million in footwear business in the past three months, an increase of 34% over the same period last year, and apparel business revenue reached $268 million, up 40% over the same period last year, and sporting goods revenue was $29 million, an increase of 7% over the same period last year.
